Happy October! I am so excited my favorite month has begun and I couldn't wait to share with you all of my favorite makeup brands I use for Halloween! Everyone around me knows I am a Halloween FREAK and I never miss an opportunity to get creative and dress up. Last year was my first time doing a full face makeup, so I chose companies I tried and liked during the process.
1. NYX Cosmetics
The first picture shown is my boyfriend and I last Halloween. I used a NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in the color Milk as the white base for our skulls. To do this, I broke the pencil in half and just scooped out the product using a small brush. I then applied it all over my face and used a beauty blender to smooth it out. I recommend using a transparent finishing powder from NYX as well to keep the makeup in place all night. This year NYX has released the SFX Creme Colour Face and Body Paint. I plan to use the SFX Creme Colour for this Halloween, but the Jumbo Eye Pencil method works great as well. This company has a huge selection of bright makeup to choose from and can be found at Target, Ulta, and online at www.nyxcosmetics.com

NYX Halloween Tip:
Check out NYX Professional Makeup YouTube for the NYX Face Awards Videos. You can find tons of Halloween inspiration from past contestants who only used NYX for their entire looks.
2. Mehron
Mehron is a cruelty free company who offers both beauty and performance makeup. They offer numerous makeup kits like the two shown above that make it easy for beginners. In addition, Mehron sells adhesives, gelatin, and wax for more advanced users who would like to do special effects this Halloween (or anytime!) You can find it all at www.mehron.com
3. Sugarpill
If you plan on being a mermaid, fairy, or anything super colorful, Sugarpill is a great choice! This company offers both pressed and loose shadows in bright and neutral colors. If you want extra shine, I recommend using their loose eyeshadow with concealer underneath to keep in it place. I promise you'll end up using your Sugarpill pigments all year round. www.sugarpill.com
4. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics
My second choice if you want bright color this year is OCC. The pigment in OCC's products is probably the best I have ever seen. This company knows how to create bright fun colors while keeping it all 100% vegan. I'm not entirely sure if OCC is still available at Sephora, but you can buy from their website www.occmakeup.com
5. Lunatick Cosmetic Labs
Lunatick Labs is a cruelty free and vegan company who offers great products with the coolest packaging ever. Shown above is their Microfinish Pressed Powder, Contour Palette, and Hocus Pocus Eyeshadow Palette. If you want to create your own coffin eyeshadow palette you can do so at www.lunaticklabs.com for $39 USD. What a great way to set the mood this Halloween!
