BECCA Cosmetics First Impression and Swatches

Hey everyone! So I visited ULTA today to pick up some new makeup sponges, concealer and foundation. As you can see, there are no sponges or concealer on the picture to the right because I have no self control. While I was in line to pay for my items (literally next to pay), I saw this tiny little box with a mini Opal BECCA highlight and ditched my necessities. I guess i'll have to apply my foundation with my finger now, i don't know! Anyway, I was really excited about the mini because I have always wanted to try a BECCA highlight, but I can not decide on a shade. I know Champagne Pop is super popular, but they're all so beautiful! Before indulging in the larger size, I wanted to give it a test run. I also went ahead and purchased the Aqua Luminous Perfecting foundation since I just ran out of Tarte Rainforest of The Sea.  I really like wearing light weight foundations since I usually don't need heavy coverage. Inside the first box are the Shimmering Skin Perfector Spotlights both liquid and pressed in the shade Opal. The pressed is very small and fits right in the palm of my hand (I have very small hands). Still, I was completely okay and satisfied with the size. Now it's time to open the box! Drum roll please!.........aaaannnd cue the crickets because it's broken. This was my first time opening the box, and I did not drop it or shake it before opening. I was actually really bummed to find it broken. I am not a popular beauty blogger or YouTuber. I do not get makeup sent to me for free. I am still a full time student, so if I splurge on makeup I have to eat ramen for the rest of the month. Maybe it was my fault for not checking, but I did expect a perfect product (even for $20 dollars). Despite my disappointment, I was pleasantly surprised to see a tiny mirror in the compact. I thought the liquid was a decent size since travel sizes seem to last me a long time anyway. Next I decided to swatch both of the highlighters for you! I thought Opal would be too light, but it seems I was wrong. I'm very tan (I looker lighter in pictures for some reason) so I wanted to show you what opal looks like on my skin color. The mini is just as good as the larger sizes, and I can't wait to try it with a full face of makeup. The second, and last item i'll share with you is the foundation. This foundation comes with a dropper like the Rainforest of the Sea I just ran out of. It is attached to the cap of the foundation and is really helpful if you put your foundation on the back of your hand (like me) before applying. I haven't tried a full face yet, but I will certainly post an update with both products used on my face. I know I didn't have a lot to share with you all today, but I thought it would be smart to always let you know when I purchase a cruelty free product and what brand it is from. Hopefully these posts help my readers remember what brands to shop for or try! Thank you so much for reading!
